Hayden Jacoby Introduction

Hello everyone, I am Hayden Jacoby. I use he/him pronouns and I am a senior here at the college. I declared to be a geology major in my first year and have stuck with it since. My hobbies include playing video games and playing sports here at the college. I have ran track for all 4 years and recently started cross country the last two years here. When I am not at the college I am a amateur mixed martial arts fighter (MMA). I am 6-2 with two different championship belts coming from 2 different states at two weight classes. I am taking this class mainly to be a less anxiety causing class to replace IS the second semester, though I have interests in using AI for academic research.

AI has been shaped out to be to be destructive in classroom, but has been slowly integrated by my professors. This has fascinated me as AI has never been considered a helpful tool in a higher education. So to me, AI is now playing a role in all of America as it seems to help students get their diplomas. I am certain though that the majority of this is not being used correctly and being used in bad taste.

Patrick Johnson Introduction

Hi, my name is Patrick Johnson. I use He/Him pronouns. I am a senior and computer science major. As for hobbies…I enjoy playing guitar, watching TV/Movies, exercising, and hiking. I have some background with the technological side of AI through my major and some work as a software developer focusing on AI. However, I will be attending law school next fall for intellectual property/technology law, and I would like to dive deeper into the ethical and societal implications of AI as this course has planned. That is why I am taking this course.
AI is going to spur societal restructuring. LLMs have certainly started this, but there will be an entirely new set of ethical and practical considerations with Agentic AI. Agentic AI is not too far off. Nonetheless, regardless of the type of AI, I believe AI in general will have a significant impact on income distribution, our purpose in professional life, and the way we approach work.

I think that AI is becoming a part of everyone’s everyday life, and that being the case I think people should have a basic understanding of what it does and how it works.

James Jiang Introduction

Hi, my name is James Jiang (he/him), and I am from China. I am majoring in Business Economics. Outside the academics, I love playing golf, basketball, and tennis, watching funny videos(TikTok), and playing music. I decided to take this class because I would like to learn more about how AI, like ChatGPT and Deepseek, can assist my writing (like brainstorming and writing checking). Lastly, I look forward to cooperating with new classmates and Professor Hayward in the Writing AI class.

The picture is taken while I was studying abroad at the University of Melbourne (Australia) in FA24.

The development of AI has brought many conveniences to everyone. However, AI also has some potential drawbacks. For example, people will be lazy because AI can do everything for them. There are also some moral and legal problems, like copyright and plagiarism. So, as scholars, we need to consider the use of AI correctly.

Quoc Do Introduction

Hi, my name is Quoc Do (he/him), from the class of 2026,  and I’m a Computer Science major. I enjoy playing games, cooking, going to the gym, and coding, especially when exploring AI applications. I love cooking because it helps me get de-stressed. Here is the photo of one of the dishes from my country, which is called Pho

AI is a big part of our lives today, helping with things like recommendations, virtual assistants, and automation. It makes tasks easier and improves decision-making in areas like healthcare and finance. However, as AI grows, we also need to think about important issues like privacy, bias, and job changes to make sure it’s used effectively.

Nguyen Bao Lam Do – Introductions

Hello everyone, my full name is Nguyen Bao Lam Do but people usually call me Lam. I’m a senior at the College of Wooster and my major is Global Media & Digital Studies. I like basketball, both watching and playing. I also enjoy lifting and playing video games. I have a passion for K-pop and K-drama. I’m taking this class to answer questions I have about AI and learn how to use it more effectively.

In my opinion, AI plays an important role in our lives today because I am witnessing a world where people use it for many different purposes from studying to working. Furthermore, it can also be an entertainment tool for many people to talk or create a lot of content with pictures and videos.

I feel like this is a picture that could represent myself. I am a person who enjoys looking at the sky and taking pictures of it. I feel my lifestyle inside those pictures, always peaceful and passing slowly.
